Logan Hocking Middle School’s 6th-grade students last spring bridged the gap between art and math with their work, featured in a special display at the Maya Burrito Gallery. The project challenged students to apply their understanding of symmetry by completing half of a photo of their face with a pencil-drawn recreation of the other half. This exercise not only honed their artistic skills but also deepened their appreciation for mathematical principles in everyday life.

The display at the Maya Burrito Gallery invites the community to view these remarkable pieces and celebrate the students’ talent and hard work. Visitors can see firsthand how the students mastered the concept of symmetry, transforming a mathematical principle into a compelling artistic expression.

Logan Hocking Middle School is proud to share this collaboration of art and math with the community and extends its gratitude to the Maya Burrito Gallery for hosting the exhibit. We encourage everyone to stop by and experience the display that runs through December 13th.
