Art continues to play a critical role in students' social and emotional learning, as well as in the development of problem solving and critical thinking skills. Youth Art Month festivities help to highlight the innovative work of both students and educators. On March 1st, 2025 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital (3535 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214) the Ohio Art Education Association will be hosting one recognition ceremony honoring the creative works of all Ohio art students featured through the following art exhibitions: Youth Art Month Art Exhibition and Youth Art Month Flag and Graphic Design Contest. In addition, the winners of the Jerry Tollifson Art Criticism Open will be honored during this recognition ceremony. This multimedia exhibit, sponsored by Dick Blick and the Ohio Art Education Association, highlights Youth Art Month which is a national celebration sponsored by The Council for Art Education. This annual celebration emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs in Ohio schools. Students from eight regions of Ohio are represented.
