The Logan Elementary Archery program will be returning to Logan-Hocking Local Schools this year. To prepare for the 2021-22 season try-outs, a series of open shoots for grades four and five will be held from Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 15. Open shoots will be held at the Opportunity Center located at 22841 Chieftain Drive. The sessions will provide archery instruction as well as opportunity to work with skills. Session will be held Monday, September 13, Tuesdays September 7 and 14, and Wednesdays September 8 and 15. Fourth grade students will shoot from 5:30 until 6:30; fifth grade students will shoot from 7:00 until 8:00. Students are welcome to attend all or part of the open shoots.
Coach Steve Dietz will return to coach the team this year. Dietz is the founder of the Logan Archery program that began in 2005. After he retired as a physical education teacher at Logan-Hocking Schools, Dietz became the head archery coach for Hocking College where he coached five national champions.
