Anonymous Donor Gifts Buddy Benches, Books to Logan-Hocking School District
The Logan-Hocking School District (LHSD) is pleased to share with its community that a generous donation has been made by an anonymous donor to purchase and install Buddy Benches on each of the district’s five elementary school campuses. The benches are intended to encourage inclusion, kindness and friendship for students who might be in need of a buddy.
“This school year, our district is expanding on last year’s themes of kindness and respect with “I’ve Got Your Back” being our district theme for the year,” said Superintendent Monte Bainter. “These buddy benches are an encouraging community support of our continued emphasis on kindness and respect and we are very grateful for this generous donation to our elementary campuses.”
In addition to the benches, the donation included the purchase of the inspirational book The Buddy Bench by Patty Brozo, which will be supplied to each elementary school to support classroom lessons and discussions about kindness, inclusion and friendship. The book tells a story of children who are inspired to become agents of change, convincing their teacher to let them build a buddy bench on their school playground.
