The Trustees of the Brighten Your Future (BYF) announced they have reached a new milestone. BYF has officially awarded over $2 million in grant money to Logan High School graduates since being established in 1988.
Brighten Your Future is a non-profit corporation established by George and Lucy Shaw in December of 1988. Brighten Your Future is Logan-Hocking community's program to provide access to higher education for graduates of Logan High School. The goal of Brighten Your Future is to assure that students have the money necessary to pursue education beyond high school. To achieve this goal, Brighten Your Future provides "last dollar" grants to all qualified students.
BYF grants are solely funded through the interest generated on investments, so it relies on donors to continually increase BYF assets through donations. This empowers more funding to be awarded to more students, helping keep up with the rising cost of post-secondary education. Thanks to the unparalleled generosity of donors, BYF investments continue to grow.
Brighten Your Future’s passionate supporters—alumni, neighbors, community partners, local small businesses, and so many in the philanthropic community continue to help increase BYF funds so larger grant amounts can be awarded to a larger group of students.
All donations to BYF are cumulative and once a donor has reached the $10,000 or more in donations, they are awarded with The Trustees’ Award for Exceptional Generosity. This level of giving establishes a BYF Grant in the name of the donor. Named Grant Donors are recognized every year by awarding one Logan High School graduate a Brighten Your Future grant in their name. Establishing a named grant provides a way for a gift to last indefinitely.
Brighten Your Future, is always accepting donations, either as a one-time gift or an ongoing organization to fund annually. Or bequeath an amount to establish a legacy for education after your death. Tax-deductible donations can be mailed to
