Leadership Team

On November 14th, the Logan High School Leadership team traveled to The Ohio State University to attend their second meeting of the year.

After receiving their Ohio State Leadership shirts and notebooks for the year, the students clapped in the Cleveland Team as they got off of their buses.

The rest of the day was spent interacting with other students in teams.  Year one students worked on finalizing research issues/Introduction to formulating research questions with Dr. Adam Voight.

Year two students listened to Ms. Tina Husted on Social Media and its Impact on High School Students, Mr. Doug Ute (OHSAA CEO) on The Impact of Athletic Behavior on High School Athletics and Dr. Bill Wagner on the Impact of Absenteeism Post Pandemic.

Following the morning breakout session, all 440 students were able to get a group picture in front of the Student Union and then did lunch on their own.

The afternoon activity consisted of team one formulating research questions, finalizing topics and then having a gallery walk with the posters they created about their topics.  Year two students collaborated with each other on two statewide issues and finalized and clarified with each other their choice of topics.   They then joined the year one students to mentor them on their projects until the end of the day where they reported out.

The year is looking very promising for them.  Each student was completely engaged and enjoyed spending the day with students they just met.  Each team’s research is just beginning.  They are all very excited to do the research and make a difference in their own school as well as the State.
