Health and Career Expo

In celebration of National Rural Health Day, Logan High School and Hocking Valley Community Hospital provided a healthcare career fair to highlight careers, skills, education, trades, and jobs associated with the healthcare profession.  Representatives from Hopewell Health Centers and Health Recovery Services also were part of the Health and Safety related theme of the Career Fair.

Presentation tables and representatives were set up in LHS Auxiliary Gym to highlight aspects of what it takes to provide healthcare... from finance, surgery, nursing, pharmacy, information technology, radiology, medical lab testing, and many areas in between.  The fair provides students exposure to many areas that are .

The career fair also included local first responders: Hocking County EMS, Logan Fire Department, Logan Police Department, Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, State Highway Patrol, and 911 Dispatch Center who shared information on careers, experiences, and training programs.

Also on hand were representatives from Hocking College training programs in the fields of nursing, physical therapy, dental hygiene, and public safety to highlight specific training programs and education opportunities that students may want to pursue after graduation.

The career fair targeted 10th grade students, as well as Health related classes offered at Logan High School. During the visit, LHS students visited 6 or more stations as part of a health & safety “scavenger hunt” activity and completed a survey/feedback form from their consultations with the local representations.  Additionally, the students visited and toured the new Chieftain Health Clinic that is in operation at Logan High School campus.

Logan-Hocking Schools wishes to thank the many local partners who shared their knowledge, insight, and experiences with our students in their chosen career field or training program.  Logan-Hocking Schools is very fortunate to have willing professionals and partner organizations to share their knowledge and experience with LHS students and staff.
