This past week was a busy one for Chief Logan FFA as it hosted the District 10 Agriculture Mechanic Skills contest. The contest consisted of 10 stations which included precision measuring, DC electricity, tool identification, part identification, fastener identification, engine maintenance, welding, etc.The Agriculture Department put the stations together with collaboration from the Technology Education Department to make a challenging and beneficial contest for the competitors. Eight schools from the FFA District 10 were present and competed, with Logan’s team of Isaac Kienzle, Dave Cosper, and Lane Schein placing fourth. The FFA will also be traveling to numerous competitions scheduled this month to compete in the area’s of Wildlife, Livestock, Equine, and Agronomy. Additionally, the FFA chapter was fortunate to be awarded a Spring Living to Serve grant from the National FFA Organization in order to educate students through beautification of common areas in Logan. These are just a few things that the FFA have done this winter and look forward to many more to finish out the school year.
