Dear LHSD Families,
During the morning of Sept. 27, 2023, the Logan-Hocking School District (LHSD) was notified of a student reporting that a fellow student at Logan-Hocking Middle School stated that they had a gun. Within a matter of minutes, we immediately searched the student's bookbag and found a BB gun. There were no verbal threats made. The immediate area was also searched and no additional threat was found. There was no threat and no hint of violence in the situation.
We would like to applaud the student who immediately spoke up about this concern and allowed this investigation to be conducted within a matter of minutes, contributing to the swift resolution of the situation.
As always, if any student, parent or community member sees or hears something suspicious, please report it to local law enforcement immediately. Students are reminded to alert a district staff member or law enforcement if they see or hear something concerning.
