OAC and OHWAY Girls State Champion

This past weekend Brooklyn Whited participated in two separate state tournaments and came out the champion of both.  OH-WAY and the Ohio Athletic Committee are two organizations that host state tournaments for youth and middle school wrestling.  On Saturday, 3/16 Brooklyn Competed in the OH-Way Jr. High Girls State Tournament held in Marion, OH earning the title of 136 lb champion by besting all 4 opponents in the field of 5 via pin.  Then, on Sunday 3/17 Brooklyn traveled to Youngstown to participate in the OAC Girls State tournament.   Despite facing a larger, more challenging field of 19 girls in the 134 lb weight class on Sunday, Brooklyn cruised to the finals with four first-period pins.  In the Championship bout she faced Trinidee Mackenzie of Vincent-Warren, and again won by pin-fall at the 3:59 mark.  These two events capped off a very successful season for Whited.
